MSDH confirms 2,507 new COVID-19 cases, 34 deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 2,507 new cases of COVID-19.

Today’s report—the fourth straight day over 2,000—brings the state’s total number of cases up to 190,411. With the confirmation of *34 additional deaths, 4,354 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.

*MSDH Note: 20 COVID-19 related deaths occurred between November 13 and December 14, identified from death certificate reports.

Overall hospitalizations continue to rise, according to the following data shared by State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs on Twitter.

The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine continues across the state as frontline healthcare workers receive their initial doses.
