MSDH confirms 302 new COVID-19 cases, 15 additional deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 302 new cases of COVID-19. 

Today’s report brings the state’s total number of cases to 16,322. 782 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus with the confirmation of 15 additional deaths. 

MSDH officials are now reporting 126 outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care facilities. At some point today, the department is expected to release the names of LTC facilities with an outbreak which is defined as “one or more cases among staff or residents.”

The latest data from the MSDH shows that hospitalizations increased on Monday, while the number of ICU beds and ventilators in use declined slightly. 

As of Monday, 11,203 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19.
