MSDH confirms 526 new COVID-19 cases, 22 additional deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 526 new cases of COVID-19. 

Today’s report represents the second-largest one-day rise in new cases following Tuesday’s record of 611. The state’s total number of cases is now at 23,424. 1,011 Mississippians have passed away from the virus following the confirmation of 22 additional deaths. 

*MSDH Note – 12 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between May 30 and June 14, identified from death certificate reports.

Hospitalizations saw an increase in the most recent data from the MSDH along with ventilator and ICU bed usage. 

As of Monday, 17,242 Mississippi have recovered from the virus.
