MSDH confirms 854 new COVID-19 cases, 20 additional deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 854 new cases of COVID-19.

Today’s report brings the state’s total number of cases up to 116,617. With the confirmation of *20 additional deaths, 3,283 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.

*One COVID-19 related death occurred on September 21, identified from death certificate reports.

Overall hospitalizations have remained steady in recent days.

As of Monday, an estimated 101,385 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19.

Governor Tate Reeves has added seven counties to his executive order placing a mask mandate and additional social distancing guidelines on hotspot areas in Mississippi.
