MSDH reports 27 COVID-19-related deaths, 272 new cases

This morning, the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed the state’s largest one-day rise in the total number of COVID-19-related deaths since May 6th with 27. 

554 Mississippians have tragically passed away due to the virus, and the confirmation of 272 new cases brings the state’s total up to 11,704. 

According to the MSDH, 1,534 cases and 271 deaths have been reported in Mississippi long-term care facilities. 

Monday, the department updated their recovery estimates to reflect that 7,681 people in Mississippi have recovered from COVID-19. 

To date, 117,760 Mississippians have been tested for COVID-19.
