MSDH reports 313 new COVID-19 cases, 18 additional deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting over 300 new cases of COVID-19.

Today’s report of 313 new cases brings the state’s total number of cases up to 14,044. 670 Mississippians have tragically passed away from the virus with the confirmation of 18 additional deaths. 

The MSDH is now reporting 123 outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care facilities. An outbreak is defined as “one or more cases among staff or residents”. State health officials are currently executing a plan to test all LTC residents and employees. 

As of Monday, 9,401 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19. 

Nearly 148,000 Mississippians have been tested for the virus.
