MSDH reports 3,462 new COVID-19 cases from the weekend

COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Mississippi according to the Mississippi Department of Health’s latest report.

Tuesday’s report accounted for positive cases between Friday, June 17, and Monday, June 20. The update brings the state’s total number of cases to 824,121. With three additional deaths, the number of those who have passed away as a result of the virus is now at 12,495. In addition, there are currently 135 outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

As of June 13, the total number of fully vaccinated Mississippians is 1,552,352. Children as young as six months old are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
