MSDH reports 675 new COVID-19 cases, 20 additional deaths

Mississippi continues to see a high number of new COVID-19 cases. 

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 675 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state’s total number of cases up to 26,567. 1,059 Mississippians have passed away due to the virus following the confirmation of 20 additional deaths. 

*MSDH Note – 18 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between May 5 and June 22, identified from death certificate reports.

There are currently 87 active outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care facilities. 

Hospitalizations are on the rise along with ICU bed and ventilator usage. 

The Department of Health is now able to estimate that 19,388 Mississippians have recovered from the virus.
