The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting less than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19.

Today’s report of 956 cases brings Mississippi’s total up to 64,400. With the confirmation of 21 additional deaths, 1,825 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.

The most recent hospital data shows relative stability since July 30th in terms of overall hospitalizations in Mississippi.

Keep in mind, the governor’s statewide mask mandate has taken effect. As a result of the order, masks must be worn by all Mississippians in schools, businesses, indoor public spaces, and outdoor public spaces where consistent social distancing is not possible.
