MSDH reports state’s largest one-day rise in COVID-19 cases

Health officials are reporting Mississippi’s largest one-day rise in the state’s number of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

This morning, the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed 404 new cases of COVID-19 with an additional 13 deaths – including 3 deaths from prior weeks identified through death certificate investigation.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Mississippi now rises to 9,090 with 409 Mississippians tragically passing away due to the virus.

To date, 1,091 of the state’s COVID-19 cases are in long-term care facilities.
