Ole Miss student found dead over weekend

An Ole Miss student was found dead over the weekend. Lafayette County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of 21-year-old Alexandria Kostial after she was found dead Saturday morning near Sardis Lake. Multiple news outlet reports state that foul play is suspected in Kostial’s death.

According to an Ole Miss spokesperson, Kostial was from St. Louis, Missouri and was working toward a bachelor’s degree in marketing in the School of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi.

“We are truly saddened by the death of Alexandria Kostial. Ally was a valued member of our campus community,” said University of Mississippi Interim Chancellor Larry Sparks. “We extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and classmates and stand ready to support them during this time. We appreciate the work of the Lafayette County Sherriff’s Department and Coroner as they conduct their investigation.”
