The Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) reported today that the state has seen 1,092 new cases and five new deaths as of 6 o’clock last night.

1,092 is by far the largest one-day number that Mississippi has seen. Prior to today, the largest one-day rise in new cases was Tuesday’s record of 611.

Interestingly enough, MSDH also reported a massive increase in people younger than 30-years-old testing positive for the virus.

The numbers now show that 4,819 of the 24,516 cases come from people below the age of 30.
