After three weeks of searching, recovery efforts for a Louisiana man who fell into the Mississippi River have been called off.
50-year-old Donny Mitchell, who has yet to be found, fell into the river on Feb. 7 near the Natchez Port in Adams County. The accident happened at approximately 4:30 a.m. when Mitchell was atempting to climb a ladder onto a walkway in the area of the Buzzi Unicem USA terminal.
According to officials with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, searches were conducted up until Friday afternoon.
