Sunday Update: number of COVID-19 cases rises to 1,638

Overnight, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi grew by 183 with 8 additional deaths related to the virus. 

The latest update brings the state’s total to 1,638 cases with 43 deaths. All but three counties in Mississippi have at least one confirmed case.

Data from the Mississippi State Department of Health shows that 29% of the cases have led to hospitalization.

Remember, Mississippi is currently under a statewide ‘shelter-in-place order’ to help slow the spread of the virus. To comply with the order make sure that you’re staying home if possible and practicing social distancing. For more information regarding the order, click here.
