SuperTalk’s 11th annual radiothon raises $367K for Palmer Home for Children

SuperTalk Mississippi Media and Palmer Home for Children today announced that the 11th annual SuperTalk Mississippi Radiothon benefiting Palmer Home raised more than $367,558 for vulnerable children.

The event was held Thursday, July 13 on the Palmer Home campus outside of Hernando and featured impactful testimonies from children, staff, and supporters of Palmer Home. Listeners from across the state tuned in to SuperTalk Mississippi throughout the day as The Gallo Show, MidDays with Gerard Gibert, Good Things with Rebecca Turner, and SportsTalk Mississippi shared stories and guest interviews from the 128-year-old nonprofit.

The day ended with a record-breaking $367,558.22 raised for Palmer Home for Children. Founded in 1895, Palmer Home serves children ages newborn through 24 years old regardless of race, gender, or background through four care settings: Campus Care, Family Care, Foster Care, and Transitional Care.

“We are so grateful to SuperTalk Mississippi for generously supporting our mission to serve children coming out of crisis by hosting this annual radiothon,” said Drake Bassett, President & CEO of Palmer Home for Children. “Hundreds of children’s lives have been changed for the better because of this 11-year partnership and the vital funds Radiothon raises for Palmer Home.”

In 2013, SuperTalk Mississippi declared Palmer Home for Children as the network’s charity of choice and established the annual radiothon to support the basic operational needs of the organization. Since its inception, the annual event has raised over $2.7 million for the children at Palmer Home.

“Radiothon is one of the most beloved traditions among our own employees and our SuperTalk listeners,” said Kim Dillon, President and CEO of SuperTalk Mississippi Media. “It’s a day where we intentionally take time to ‘pause’ our normal programming and listen to incredible stories of lives changing at the Palmer Home for Children. As a privately funded nonprofit, Palmer Home does not rely on government funding, and we are honored to do our part to ensure this remarkable organization can continue to give these children a home that provides hope and healing.”

Donations to Palmer Home are still welcome and can be made at any time. To make a one-time donation, or to learn how to make a monthly donation and become a Palmer Hero, visit
