The international company, Google, announced on Thursday they have the plans to open an operations center in Desoto County.

This is planned to open in late 2020 and will be the company’s entry into the Memphis metro area. It will also be the company’s first operations center in the U.S.

There has not been a definite location decided for this move.  The company is still under consideration for building a new location or leasing a different building.

Employees will handle customer service concerns including product troubleshooting and helping to set up ad campaigns.

Glenn McCullough, Executive Director of Mississippi Development Authority, has been speaking with Troy Dickerson, the Vice President of Google Operations Center.

“…Dickerson said they are coming to Mississippi because of amazing local Mississippi talent,” McCullough said. “They will handle customer service and 350 new career opportunities with an international icon here in Mississippi.”
