The Toyota manufacturing facility in Blue Springs will soon open an on-site Children’s Learning Center, a first-of-its-kind facility designed to help employees balance work and family life while promoting early childhood education.
The center, developed in partnership with Bright Horizons, will operate in alignment with Toyota’s production schedules and is expected to open in early 2026. Once fully operational, it will serve up to 238 children over two shifts, providing care and learning opportunities for children ages six weeks to five years.
Bright Horizons, which operates similar centers for major employers nationwide, will manage the learning center’s programs and staffing. The organization is known for its focus on early education, family support, and workplace flexibility programs that help employees balance personal and professional responsibilities.
Toyota Mississippi President Erik Skaggs joined House Speaker Jason White, Bright Horizons General Manager Jamie Nelson, and other education and community leaders at a preview event on Monday.

The facility will feature an age-based curriculum focused on physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development, as well as a STEM room, a “Movement Matters” space for motor skill growth, an outdoor playground, and a commercial kitchen to support nutritious meal options.
Community and education leaders from the Mississippi Economic Council, CREATE Foundation, Community Development Foundation, and Mississippi Early Learning Alliance also attended the event, calling the center an important step toward supporting working parents and improving early education access across North Mississippi.
The Toyota Children’s Learning Center is part of the company’s broader effort to strengthen workforce sustainability through employee wellness, family support, and community partnerships.
