The current Mississippi Match 5 jackpot has risen to take the spot as the largest prize in the game’s history, with the estimated winnings totaling $700,000.

The previous Mississippi Match 5 record jackpot of $665,000 was hit in July 2021 and was split between two winning tickets. The next drawing, which will be on Thursday, will be the 23rd since the last jackpot of $55,000 was won on December 10.

Since its launch, Mississippi Match 5 has had five jackpots of more than $500,000. Each time there’s a jackpot winner, the game resets to a $50,000 jackpot.

“It is very easy to get caught up in the excitement of such a substantial jackpot,”  Mississippi Lottery Corporation President Jeff Hewitt said. “We love seeing players having fun; but, we also remind them to play responsibly.”

There are still three winning tickets that have yet to be claimed in Mississippi, with the most recent ticket being purchased at a Sprint Mart on West Main Street in Tupelo. The ticket, which was purchased for Monday’s Powerball drawing, won $50,000 after matching four of five white balls and the Powerball.

The two additional unclaimed tickets were purchased for a Powerball and Mega Millions drawing. One $500,000 ticket was purchased in McComb from the August 13 Powerball drawing and is set to expire on February 9. Another $4 million ticket was purchased at the Byram Chevron from the January 3 Mega Millions drawing and will expire on July 2.
