A third arrest has been made in connection with a weekend triple homicide in Jackson that claimed the lives of a pair of sisters and a toddler.
Police took Mikala Young, 25, into custody on Tuesday on a capital murder charge. She is currently being held in the Hinds County Detention Center.
Young joins Cornelius Carter and Jordan Carter, both 28 and not related, in facing charges in this case. Bond was denied for the two male suspects.

Jackson police reported that sisters Keyana Weathersby, 25, and Erica Weathersby, 30, along with Keyana’s 2-year-old son, Camari Givens, were shot and killed at a home on Queen Alexandria Lane on Saturday night.
The arrests of Cornelius and Jordan occurred after law enforcement attempted a traffic stop on Maddox Road that turned into a pursuit involving a vehicle investigators believed was connected to the crime. Both suspects reportedly had a criminal rap sheet prior to their alleged involvement in this case, as evidenced by Cornelius wearing an ankle monitor when he was handcuffed on Monday.
Law enforcement officials believe the the shooting was targeted and that the investigation remains active. In the meantime, Jackson Mayor John Horhn is calling on the community to come together to take a stand against gun violence and vows to do everything in his power to combat killings in Mississippi’s capital city.
