As part of a brief onslaught of 2026 kickoff times released by the Southeastern Conference earlier this week, the Egg Bowl between Ole Miss and Mississippi State was included – and placed exactly where many thought it would be.
The 123rd annual rivalry game will be played this year on Black Friday, Nov. 27. It will be the third year in a row Ole Miss and Mississippi State have played the day after Thanksgiving after being played on Thanksgiving from 2017 to 2023.
Kickoff for this year’s Egg Bowl, which will be played in Oxford, is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT and will be televised by ABC. ABC games immediately following it will be Florida at Florida State (2:30 p.m. CT) and Texas at Texas A&M (6:30 p.m. CT).
SuperTalk Mississippi will air the 2026 Egg Bowl on participating stations, as well.

Ole Miss beat Mississippi State, 38-19, in the 2025 Egg Bowl for the program’s third consecutive win and fifth win in six seasons over its rival. The Rebels hold a 68-47-6 all-time advantage in games against the Bulldogs.
Ole Miss, coming off its first-ever College Football Playoff run that included wins over Tulane and Georgia before losing to eventual title runner-up Miami, finished the year ranked No. 3 in the Associated Press’ final poll. The Rebels will be led by former defensive coordinator Pete Golding after ex-head coach Lane Kiffin spurned them to accept the job at LSU right before last season’s CFP begun. Returning players of note include quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewan Lacy, and linebacker Suntarine Perkins, among others, after very few who had eligibility remaining opted for the NFL Draft.
OPINION: Kiffin’s fatal flaw on display again with latest cheap shot at Mississippi
Mississippi State, going into year three of the Jeff Lebby era, has slowly seen a rebuild under the former Ole Miss and Oklahoma offensive coordinator. Lebby had the Bulldogs go from two wins in his first season to five wins and a Duke’s Mayo Bowl appearance in his second season. Rising sophomore Kamario Taylor is being handed the ball at quarterback with the team’s second-leading receiver in 2025, Anthony Evans III, opting to return for his senior season. Other returners of note include running back Fluff Bothwell, safety Isaac Smith, and defensive back Kelley Jones.
Additional kickoff times announced by the SEC this week include Ole Miss opening against Louisville in Nashville on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 6:30 p.m. CT and Ole Miss hosting Kiffin and LSU on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 6:30 p.m. CT. Both games will be televised by ABC and air on participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations.
The entire TV schedule and kickoff times for the first three weeks of the upcoming SEC football season will be released May 27.
