Mississippi continues to see low unemployment rates.
According to data from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES), the state hit a historic 2.6 percent low in November for the non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate. That means Mississippi had its lowest unemployment rate without adjustments for predictable patterns.
“Records were made to be broken, and that’s what Mississippi continues to do,” Gov. Tate Reeves said. “With historic lows in unemployment, more Mississippians are working good jobs across the state. I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish together and look forward to keeping the momentum going in 2023.”
The record follows five months since March 2023 that Mississippi has recorded an all-time low in seasonally adjusted employment rates.

- July – 3.0%
