MSDH confirms 3,379 new COVID-19 cases in weekly report

On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) saw an uptick in COVID-19 cases in its weekly report, confirming 3,379 new ones.

The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 943,402. With 15 additional deaths, 13,051 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 76 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 483 daily cases, a 160% increase from two weeks ago. As of October 1, 1,567,597 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
