MSDH confirms 4,413 COVID-19 cases in weekly report

On Wednesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 4,413 new COVID-19 cases in its weekly report as cases are on the rise.

The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 951,070. With 20 additional deaths, 13,083 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 92 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 465 daily cases, a 4% decrease from two weeks ago. As of October 1, 1,567,597 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
