MSDH reports three-day total of 1,593 new COVID-19 cases

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has reported 1,593 new cases of COVID-19 from the three-day period of June 10-12.

The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases to 816,572. With the confirmation of one additional death, 12,481 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. Also according to the report, there are 100 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

According to The New York Times, at least 1 in 4 Mississippians have been infected while 1 in 238 have passed away from the coronavirus since the onset of the pandemic.
