Southaven woman last seen at gas station found dead in Memphis

A woman who went missing at a Southaven gas station has been found dead.

The body of Bonita Adams, 36, was found in Memphis on Sept. 14, according to a Facebook post by the Southaven Police Department, but was not positively identified until Monday, Oct. 2.


Adams was last seen on Sept. 13 at the Raceway gas station on Stateline Road West near the I-55 interchange in Southaven.

According to the police report, Adams was hit and killed by a train along the tracks at Castalia Street and East Person Avenue in Memphis.

Police believe the cause of death was suicide. However, an investigation into the matter remains open.
